Why Are We Here?

Kaula Yoga Marg (KYM) exists to preserve, explain, support, guide, and nurture a living relationship with the Kaula Śākta Tradition.

Our purpose is not simply to present information about the tradition. It is to help sincere seekers approach it with greater clarity, devotion, understanding, and respect for its sacred context.

The work of KYM reflects the same Five Pillars that guide our organization: Preserve, Educate & Enable, Practice, Guide, and Community.

To Preserve What Is Sacred

Kaula Śākta is a living spiritual tradition, not merely a historical subject.

KYM exists to help preserve its genuine teachings, sacred context, spiritual depth, and living continuity so they are not lost, diluted, fragmented, or separated from their deeper purpose.

Preservation is not about freezing the tradition in the past. It is about honoring what has been transmitted, recognizing its sacred boundaries, and helping ensure that future seekers can encounter the tradition with integrity.

To Make the Tradition Understandable

Today, spiritual information is widely available, but information alone does not always lead to understanding.

The Kaula Śākta Tradition includes sacred terminology, philosophy, symbolism, devotional forms, texts, practices, and ways of understanding Śakti that may be unfamiliar to many seekers.

KYM seeks to explain these teachings clearly and responsibly so that sincere seekers can begin to understand the tradition without reducing it to something simplistic or removing it from its sacred context.

Our aim is to make the path understandable and approachable without diluting its depth.

To Support Practice, Not Just Information

Spiritual knowledge is not meant only to be collected intellectually.

KYM exists to help seekers move from learning toward appropriate spiritual engagement through devotion, contemplation, meditation, mantra, sacred study, sādhana, Satsang, worship, and other practices consistent with the Kaula Śākta path.

Practice is approached with sincerity, discipline, reverence, and respect for the context in which teachings are traditionally given.

The purpose is not simply to know more about the tradition, but to allow spiritual understanding to gradually become part of lived experience.

To Provide Guidance and Context

A sincere seeker may encounter many teachings, interpretations, practices, claims, and modern presentations of Tantra, Yoga, Śakti, and spiritual life.

Without context, it can be difficult to understand what belongs to the tradition, what has been simplified, what has been removed from its original setting, and what may require deeper preparation or guidance.

KYM seeks to provide direction and context so that seekers can approach the Kaula Śākta path with greater clarity, discernment, and understanding.

Guidance is not about creating dependency. It is about helping the seeker understand the path, its purpose, and the appropriate place of teachings and practices within a larger spiritual journey.

To Build Spiritual Community

Spiritual life is not always meant to be walked alone.

KYM seeks to create opportunities for Satsang (सत्सङ्ग), shared learning, spiritual fellowship, gatherings, retreats, ceremonies, festivals, and continued spiritual association.

Community creates a space where sincere seekers can learn, reflect, practice, and grow alongside others who are drawn toward the Divine Mother.

Through continued association, seekers can deepen both their understanding of the tradition and their own spiritual journey.
